Al co‐founded Ironbridge in September 2005. Prior to Ironbridge, from 2003 to 2005, he was a Partner in the Equity Fund at EdgeStone Capital Partners, a Canadian mid‐market private equity group. From 1993 to 2003, he led and held senior management roles at a series of private equity backed portfolio companies, including the leading Canadian online food retailer Grocery Gateway Inc. (President and Chief Executive Officer), Canada Bread Company Ltd., Blocksom & Company (President) and SteelWorks. From 1987 to 1991 he worked for Bain & Company in Toronto, London, and Sydney.
Al holds an Honours Business Administration degree from The University of Western Ontario, and an MBA from Harvard Business School where he graduated as a Baker Scholar and a John L. Loeb Fellow in Finance.
